| I've been enjoying my time playing drum for Aaron Ivey. This weekend we are leading worship in Ft. Worth at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. I've met some really cool people and the speaker, David Platt, has given some of the best bible based, Christ centered messages that I've heard in a while. He is up there with our pastor Matt Carter who teaches at the Austin Stone. I've been challenged and convicted every session. I needed this. I plan on getting the recordings of this weekend so I can share them with anyone who wants them. His message is coming from Exodus where God has let Moses lead the people out of slavery....but then when they get out Aaron makes an idol out of a bunch of gold from all the people and then says to the people something like "this is our god who led us out of slavery, lets worship him".....(don't quote me on that) So the people forget about the real (G)od and start worshiping this idol. Platt made the parallel that today's church has done the exact same thing. I don't do this message justice though....just let us know if you want to get the message, it will stir you.
Another key idea this week has been: All the things we do to help others, like feeding the hungry, helping out the needy, caring for widows and orphans will only be a glorified service project unless we do it in the name of Christ. Then it becomes a mission. You are no longer a humanitarian, but someone who is being Christ to those people and helping usher in the Kingdom of God.
I guess i'm inspired to say the least. -Philip | | |

| For those of you who don't know, I started a custom drum company in 2006 and am starting to do this as my full time job aside from playing drums. I would love for you to check out my work and tell me what you think! I would also love to make drums for you...yes YOU!

| If you haven't heard I got engaged to my beautiful girlfriend (now fiancee), Kim Craddock (soon to be Kim Ellis) hehehehe. Instead of trying to explain to everyone over and over again I decided to tell you about it on here.
On Wednesday I bought THE ring and decided I wanted to propose that day because as I write this I am on the road in Oklahoma City with the band. I didn't want to wait to pop the question any longer. I only had 2 hours before Kim got off of work at 5. I called my good buddy and fellow band member Daniel Wheeler and asked if he and his wife could take Kim's Dog for a while since I didn't want the little rascal to interfere. I took Baxter to Daniel's house and ran to the floral shop to get some rose pedals and a single Gerber Daisy. I then went back to her house and sprinkled the rose pedals all the way from the entrance to the living room arch way where I proceeded to spell out "Will U?" with rose pedals. I had to wait around for a little bit before she came home, and I told her to call me when she left because I was cleaning my room and would just come to her house when she called me, and she totally believed me....whooahahaha.
She opened the door and was talking on the phone to her mom, who she told "Oh my Gosh I have to go!" and her mom thought something terrible was happening to her. So she walked into the room where I was and I was standing there with the Gerber Daisy in my hand with the ring tied to it.....I said "Kimberly Anne Craddock..." and then I went down to one knee..."Will you marry me?" and then after some hugs and kisses I finally had to ask her what her answer was...but it was yes!
So the wedding is November 7th at the Paramount Theater in Abilene, TX... alot of people say "whoa that is really soon." The reason it is so soon (3 months away) is because the Paramount is booked solid for a really really long time....with November 7th being THE only date available anytime soon. So we booked! Now we will be booking it (as in going really fast) for the next 3 months...lots of planning and things to do.
So thats the story, and I hope you'll come to the wedding!
